XF Bioenergetic Applications Provide a New Window on Cell Metabolism

XF assays provide comparable performance to biochemical and radioactive methods, with better throughput, and without the preparation and use of complicated labels or radioactive materials. 

Also, by measuring metabolic parameters instead of just ATP, cell number and viability, investigators have a much better indicator of cellular behavior that is useful for optimizing assays, reducing variability and identifying problems before expensive and involved drug screens are performed.

Fatty Acid Oxidation Assay

XF assays offer a comparable method of measuring beta oxidation without radioactivity. Besides providing the additional glycolysis information, the real-time nature of the assay provides kinetic information that is not visible using accumulation assays.
