Webinar Abstract:
Mitochondrial functions in bioenergetics and intermediary metabolism are often viewed separately from their role in apoptotic signaling. However, the effect of different bioenergetic pathways on apoptosis has not been carefully examined. Using the Seahorse XF24 extracellular flux analyzer, we investigated metabolic properties of cells expressing Bcl-xL, a critical anti-apoptotic protein localized to mitochondria.
You will Learn:
- How to assess utilization of different respiratory substrates
- How to evaluate ECAR and OCR responses to respiratory inhibitors
- The occurrence of alternative metabolic pathways within the TCA cycle
