XFe Extracellular Flux Analyzers are the Gold Standard platform for metabolic assays today and in the future, simultaneously measuring the two major energy producing pathways of the cell - mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis - in a microplate, in real-time. The XFe96, XFe24 and XF24-3 Analyzers, stress test kits, and reagents can determine in vitro oxygen consumption, glycolysis, CO2, mitochondrial dysfunction, and fatty acid oxidation.
This fast and sensitive measurement of cellular bioenergetics is label-free, enabling time-resolved analysis and the reuse of the cells. XF assays provide increased throughput in a drug discovery format that is superior to its single parameter predecessors. By incorporating hardware, software, and apps that are made for each other, low-cost, disposable fluorescent optical sensors, multiplexed fiber optics and highly integrated electronic components - XFe instruments offer scientists the ability to:
- Perform time-resolved measurements of a single population of cells over a period of minutes, hours or even days.
- XFe24 and XFe96 Analyzers simultaneously measure oxygen consumption rate (OCR), and extracellular acidification rate (ECAR).
- XF24-3 Analyzer simultaneously measures carbon dioxide evolution rates (CDER), and oxygen consumption rates (OCR), in isolated mitochondria or whole cells.
- Reuse cell samples after completing an XF measurement.

The XFe Analyzer fits easily on a bench-top and requires only a standard lab power connection. An internal measuring chamber is maintained at 37°C at all times, and plates can be loaded manually, or a robotic plate handler and fluidics system can be used to develop automated assay protocols.
User-Friendly Controller Interface
A high-resolution, color LCD touch-screen provides a rich user interface for increased productivity and shorter assay running times. Integrated with the XFe Analyzer, the networkable controller comes loaded with Microsoft Windows® Operating System.
XFe Wave is software that supports the way that you work, taking advantage of today's technological advances to simplify your assay workflow and analysis, with multi-touch screen capability. An easy 4-step process guides you through your assay, and provides a succinct design summary report on completion. Experiments can be designed on any desktop computer, and then imported into the XFe Analyzer in your lab. XFe data can be viewed in raw form, and then analyzed by exporting to Excel™, or by using the XFe software review and charting tools. XFe Wave comes with an unlimited-use license for your organization.
XFe Analyzers are used in conjunction with the XF Prep Station - required with the XFe96 Analyzer, and optional with the XFe24 Analyzer.

XF stress test kits and regents provide a standardized means to perform XF assays quickly and easily. Pre-calibrated, quality assured reagents, and standard assay protocols, ensure reliable and reproducible data.
Convenient XFe FluxPaks
Each XFe Analyzer comes with two XFe FluxPaks which contain the correct ratio of XFe Assay Kits, XF Cell Culture Plates and XF Calibrant necessary to perform up to eighteen 24-well or 96-well assays.
