Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Process Development)
Job Description
As a key member of our Engineering team, you will lead design, development and commercialization of optical and mechanical sub-systems for our next generation of process development instruments.
Responsibilities will include:
- Technical leadership and project management for the design and development of mechanical and opto-mechanical subsystems including:
- Environmental chambers
- Optical measurement systems
- Automation and motion control systems (pneumatic actuators, motors, sensors, positioning systems)
- Fluid handling
- Packaging and component integration
- Provide project definition, scope, technical specifications, performance trades/models
- Work with development team to design, build, test and validate performance of prototype systems.
- Provide documentation and design control for mechanical systems.
- Work with manufacturing team during the introduction phase and provide process documentation, test procedures and training to production personnel.
- Lead advancement of our technology through creative engineering solutions
Job Requirements
Individual should have experience with the following:
- Electro-optics, mechanical systems and instrumentation design
- Motion control and automation
- Fluid handling
- Instrument packaging
- Demonstrated ability to bring designs from concept to commercialization
This position requires a BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, plus 10 years experience working with Electro-optical instruments and automation systems.
